Sofia / Wetzikon, October 16, 2012.

On Tuesday, October 2, 2012, the ribbon of the newly-built plant for design, production and assembly of fiber-optic components and platforms in the capital was officially cut. Those present included Bulgaria's President Mr. Rosen Plevneliev, Mr. Alexander Petrov, Mr. Peter Reichle and Mr. Michel Riva, representative of Swiss company Reichle & De-Massari AG (R&M). The inauguration was attended by H.E. Mrs. Regina Escher, Ambassador of Switzerland in Bulgaria, Mr. Borislav Stefanov, Managing Director of Invest Bulgaria Agency, and Mr. Boni Bonev, Chairman of the Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce. Also present were several representatives of the state administration and various institutions, business partners and other official guests, representing Reichle & De-Massari AG, Switzerland. They voiced their support, showing themselves to be pleased with the investment. The official guests, including the President of Bulgaria, took a tour of the plant, allowing them to see the working environment and the production phases, which follow strict quality control measures and are subject to quality and hygiene regulations.

At the end of the tour, President Rosen Plevneliev again raised the idea of developing a high-tech park in Sofia. The owners and management team of R&M expressed their eagerness to be involved with similar projects in the future.

In June, earlier this year, the Minister of Economy Delyan Dobrev presented a class A investment certificate to Reichle & De-Massari Bulgaria Production EOOD. Following a successful entry into the Bulgarian market, R&M is a pioneer of the production of optical and copper solutions for communications networks in Bulgaria. The Swiss company’s investment has enabled Bulgaria to make history in a business that had not previously existed in the country. The presence of R&M in the Bulgarian market resulted in a noticeable increase in the willingness of other foreign companies to invest in high technology fields in Bulgaria.

R&M's products, manufactured in Bulgaria, will be available on all global markets. The quality of these products can be described in two words - Swiss precision. All good practices currently followed by R&M will be implemented in Bulgaria too. The plant’s employees will even spend some time in Switzerland, where they will master the new know-how and receive training in company policies and product lines.

"This investment, which is set to continue into the future, includes generous surplus funds, enabling the provision of extra employment and the commitment of Bulgarian companies who are involved in the production of the components required for the manufacturing of the end product. In short, R&M has created opportunities for additional business and demand for creating new positions of employment in Bulgaria", summarized Alexander Petrov, Country Manager of Reichle & De-Massari Bulgaria Production EOOD, part of Reichle & De-Massari EOOD, the market organization for the whole region. According to R&M reports, up to 150 new staff will be hired by the end of 2013. Switzerland is the home of well-developed and operating family companies that hold strong family business values.

Reichle & De-Massari Bulgaria Production EOOD is also a representative of the Swiss family company. R&M Bulgaria will work to support R&M, playing a key role in the large international family business.
