When planning building construction projects today planners, architects and builders are increasingly using digital possibilities and Building Information Modeling (BIM). Using BIM, a building is designed electronically. Therefore, all data of a building is digitally designed and stored over its entire life cycle.
The goal of BIM is to enhance planning assurance and along with this a shorter building period. Over the entire process this saves time, money and last but not least possible law suits because problems will be detected and solved during planning already. Forthcoming years of maintenance are simplified because the existing model provides information about used materials and its location. Finally, it helps to organize a smooth deconstruction (material separation for recycling) or a reconstruction alike.
