Copper unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cabling is a classic solution for IT and communication networks seen on many office floors. R&M recommends this solution when simple, space-saving installation and more inexpensive materials are required. Another advantage of UTP cabling is the reduction in ground loops.
This cabling type supports transmission speeds from 10 Mbit/s to 10 Gbit/s. However, suitable cabling categories must be specified precisely here.
As in data centers, 10GBASE-T and 10 Gigabit Ethernet network technology will become the standard in the office world. This technology poses entirely different requirements in terms of installation. With WARP technology, R&M already has a fully developed solution at its disposal.
The complete range of unshielded cable solutions is available as part of R&Mfreenet – it is optimal basic equipment for reliable, high-performance networks.
Three different transmission classes are available:
- Cat. 5e / Class D*
- Cat. 6 / Class E*
- Cat. 6A / Class EA*
