R&M, the globally active developer and provider of cabling systems for high-quality network infrastructures, based in Wetzikon, Switzerland, today announced the takeover of Tecnosteel S.r.l.
Tecnosteel, based in Brunello (VA), Italy, is a leading European manufacturer of 19-inch racks and enclosures for IT equipment and networks in data centers. The portfolio also includes compact distributor and server cabinets, enclosures for computer rooms, power distributors, cooling and air conditioning systems, systems for network management and monitoring in data centers.
R&M acquires Tecnosteel S.r.l., Brunello (Italy) and will in the future be in a position to offer complete, tailor-made infrastructure units for data centers of all types and sizes.
«Our strategic goal is to be able to offer integrated, complex infrastructure solutions for data centers from a single source. The acquisition of Tecnosteel will allow us to perfectly complement our portfolio and benefit from existing customer relationships in Europe,» says CEO Michel Riva.
Tecnosteel founders and managing directors Mauro Turci and Marino Piotti emphasize: «We are delighted to be able to hand over Tecnosteel to R&M after more than 20 years of stable development. In association with the R&M Group, Tecnosteel will be able to expand sales beyond Italy and Europe in the long term. Tecnosteel is gaining important, new perspectives for the future in the growing data center market.» Michel Riva adds: «Tecnosteel fits into the R&M Group and our culture. Everything’s just right: quality awareness, expertise, flexibility, and customer orientation.» R&M is taking over all employees in Italy and France. Investments have already been made to further expand the highly automated production facility in Brunello.
The combined product range enables R&M to offer complete and tailor-made infrastructure units for data centers of all types and sizes. «Integration covers everything from network connectors to digitalized Data Center Infrastructure Management,» says Michel Riva. Together, R&M and Tecnosteel will develop innovations with which networks can be further densified and data centers can be operated in a more energy- and cost-efficient manner. Tecnosteel is already developing green data center solutions under the brand name «BladeShelter». Mauro Turci has created a proprietary design line for network cabinets with «tecnosteel progress». «With Tecnosteel on board, R&M is further strengthening its market position in the price-sensitive project business. We can acquire larger project volumes and deliver in Europe even faster and more flexibly,» explains Michel Riva.
