Connections between floors, distributors or buildings have to be able to transport enormous quantities of data. R&M thus recommends using fiber-optic technology for backbone cabling. Depending on the transmission distances and required transmission speeds, the backbone is planned either with multimode fibers (OM2, OM3, OM4) or single mode fibers (OS2).

Medium to high density panels allow you to choose the optimum combination of port density and handling comfort. In order to permanently minimize transmission losses, R&M places particular importance on maintaining the minimum bending radii and protecting the fibers. Both aspects are already included in R&Mfreenet solutions.

Mixed media patch panels enable cost effective, scalable solutions for both, FO and twisted pair cabling. In small installation, this can help to create space saving installations than can grow with your needs.

Tailored solution for your need

Solutions for fiber-optic cabling based on R&Mfreenet are available either with pre-terminated breakout units, for splice applications or as field termination products. Depending on installation preferences, the right technology choice can be made.
Splice installations allow the easy handling of huge numbers of fibers, exactly fitting to the circumstances of each particular installation. Both, mechanical and fusion splice technology can be used. Pre-terminated breakout units allow plug and play installation without the need of labor-intensive splicing. Field termination installations combine some of the aspects of the previous two technologies. Installation is simplified thanks to R&M’s fantastic quick-mounting technology FO-Field. Reliable terminations can be made in minutes, without expensive splicing equipment.
