Comprehensive residential installation data cables and patch cords portfolio, for both new installations and retrofitting
Restricted space at homes
Cable routing in residential environment and patching in home distributors are often very restricted in the available space. Conduits or installation tubes are often used in this area. In addition, the back boxes of terminal outlets are also typically too small for comfortable cable handling. Patching in home distributors is typically a challenge, due to restricted space.
Small diameter installation data cables
In many installations, small diameter installation cables could help for these topics. Since residential homes typically are not as large as offices, AWG26 cables with a permanent link reach of 60m can often be used for home wiring. These cables fulfill the same transmission performance as the full grown AWG23 cables, just have reduced reach. Up to 60m these cables are equivalent in the application and reach the same cabling classes. Shielded and unshielded versions for Class E (1 Gbit/s) and Class EA (10Gbit/s) are available.
The measurements for formal acceptance will become purely routine and prove the outstanding quality of the R&M solutions. As a result, installers and customers can be sure that their home network will work first time right.
High flexibility, short-length patch cords
Highly flexible patch cords are essential for easy handling in home distributors. Network equipment, cabling ports, accessories and patch cords are competing for the available space. Therefore, thinLine patch cords with significantly smaller diameters are very popular for such applications. Extra short patch cord lengths, down to 20cm are also a preferred way to reduce patch cord volume. R&M offers a specialized range of cords for exactly this application.
