Cable sharing solutions

On demand, expand the functionality of existing cabling, by using one cable for multiple devices (cable sharing) with R&M splitter solutions.

Cable sharing as a problem solver

When designing cabling systems, planners, installers, and users are often faced with a dilemma. On one hand, the solution has to be as flexible, spacious and future-proof as possible, while on the other hand each additional socket means added investment costs. If the need for more ports arises over time, then the multiple uses of a cable (cable sharing) is a cost-effective way of allowing the system to grow.
If the need for more ports at a Terminal Outlet (TO) arises over time, the use of one cable for multiple devices (cable sharing) can be a cost-effective way of allowing the system to grow.

Multiplying port count on demand

R&M splitter solutions can be used to expand the functionality of existing cabling. R&M has developed an amazingly simple principle here – existing, generic RJ45 connections are equipped with an additional Microsplitter that enables connectivity for 2 – 4 devices, depending on transmission protocol. The splitters can be installed in distribution panel and terminal outlet in no time at all. R&M offers suitable solutions for use in offices, apartments, public buildings or hospitals, depending on the requirement and application profile.

One pair or two pair connectivity

With the Microsplitter in place, the use has access to each of the 4 pair in a RJ45 individually. Multiple protocol options are available. One pair solutions include analog telephony, control signals or Single Pair Ethernet. Two pair solutions include digital telephony or Fast Ethernet.
Just using the same kind of (color coded) Microsplitter at both ends of the RJ45 link will automatically take care of connectivity or polarity issues. Application specific patch cords will connect the Microsplitter ports to the standardized ports in the device.
