Structured Cabling

Distributed splitting in floor or zone distributor means just a few fibers are needed in the backbone. The individual working areas are serviced by a defined horizontal cabling system. Structured Cabling topology optimizes the use of installation material.

Distributed splitting is a hierarchical topology in which the optical splitter is located on a floor or zone distribution enclosure. This means that only a few fibers are needed in the backbone, which in turn makes the installation of the vertical cabling relatively simple. The individual working areas are serviced by a defined horizontal cabling system.

The splitters located in the floor or zone distribution point connect the vertical and horizontal cabling. They are placed either in boxes for wall mounting, or in 19 “panels, which are mounted in small cabinets.

With this structure, the installation is divided into clearly separated segments and can be individually built and tested. The two different cabling sections can, therefore, be built independently and in parallel.

Distributed splitting allows for optimal use of the installation material and thus optimizes material costs.
